MISS EDWARDS was spending some weeks in the country, at a farm-house. There was no church within five miles, and no Sunday-school for the children whom she met in her walks and drives in the neighbourhood. This was a sad state of things, the good lady thought, and she set about to remedy it quickly. She succeeded in getting leave to have the boys and girls assemble in the district school-house; and, with the help of three or four persons who felt interested in the new enterprise and with the aid of some books and cards sent from the city, Miss Edwards had the pleasure of seeing a good school in operation before she left in the autumn.
