THE HORRID FLY

2

Mother, will you tell me why
We are told to "swat the fly?"

3

Yes, my dear, because it brings,
Dirt, disease and filthy things

4

When it walks on things we eat
Germs drop from its sprawling feet

5

Little germs which mighty quick,
Could, if swallowed, make us sick,
(H. Franc)

6

When food's exposed to flies or dust,
Then full of germs get skin and crust,
Wipe them, or wash, or cook you must.
