Franklin D. Roosevelt, Pres.,
| My Dear President: | |
| The enclosed picture sure bowled me over.
| Up to now I thought maybe you were just a super, super, something.
| But when I saw the enclosed in a newspaper and saw the "Franklin D. Roosevelt" as architect I knew beyond all possible doubt you were all right.
| Your F. H. A. Title 1. loan has saved our corporation a big number of times, and your H.O.L.C. has created activities all around our business properties and made them as good as we expected., but in the meantime lots of people told me you were a little on the radical and possibly on the communist or fascist side.
|
But: The picture which you have drawn of your dream house, shows me, and millions of other Americans, that you are,
| Of our age. And besides you seem to be a human being. I wonder if I shall ever be so honored, as to have the right and priviledge of visiting you in your little old dream house without telephones?
| I would make a trip accross -sic- the continent for the priveledge! -sic-
| And I wouldn't ask you for even an appointment or a loan or a favor.
| I would just talk about the house, and tell you some of my favorite jokes.
| And have I got some pips. And even though some of them are about you, they are still pips.
