| My dear Mr. President:
| It has recently been brought to our attention that the R.C.A. Mfg. Co. is planning to make television broadcasting available for reception, in the city of Poughkeepsie and its vicinity.
| Feeling that you might be interested in having one of those marvelous new instruments, scientist's newest inovation, installed in your new home on Dutchess Hill or in your home at Hyde Park, we are taking the liberty of writing you with the suggestion that if you are interested, we would be very glad to have one of the engineers from the Radio Corp. of America call at your home and make the necessary tests to determine whether good reception can be had.
| We feel that your new home on Dutchess Hill would be particularly suited to good television reception, by reason of its elevation and its freedom from possible surrounding interferences. Furthermore, with the R.C.A. Engineers taking full charge of this installation, we feel confident that complete satisfaction and service can be rendered.
| We would indeed, consider it a privilege to hear from you, and assure you that a favorable reply will be greatly appreciated.
| Sincerely yours | |

| Dear Mr. Perlmutter,
| It is very good of you to offer to have a television set put in at the Hill cottage at Hyde Park, but, frankly, I expect to use only occasionally during the day and I want to be entirely free from both telephones and radios. I am grateful to you, however, for your offer.

Very sincerely yours, | |
