A fugitive from redecorating, Mary Jo SANDS has been back for a week. Her husband, Jack is all wrapped up in politics. He is running for State Senator and is Campaign Manager for Frank Celebreeze who is running for County Commissioner. Remember Jack when you vote on May 6. Mary Jo is in a whirl of plans for Peggy's First Communion Party on May 4. Joan Colette will soon be celebrating her third birthday. Many of us remember the exciting day when she was born on Division 27.

2

Big news from SALLY RUSSELL: She will be back here on May 2 for a general check up, new equipment, new feeders, and a lot of chatter with her many Cleveland friends. Miss Kessler promises to serve fancy-type goodies such as shrimp, lobster, crab, etc. to all returning to a reunion luncheon. Make reservations immediately.

3

LIZ ARNOLD is planning to go home the first of August. She hopes to have a new house finished in the near future. The plans are all finished and Liz is dreaming up enchanting color schemes, such as a pink and gray kitchen.

4

Another oldtimer is about to leave. BETTY LEWANDOWSKI is spending the last two weeks of April at home; then she will return until school is out and go home for good in June. Betty says that she can walk limitedly, depending on breathing, can get in and out of bed unassisted, and rides in a car sitting up. They are planning an addition to their home so that her parents can live with them and keep her company. The addition will be an enlarged kitchen and living quarters, designed so that Betty can do the maximum of her own work. She will ride in style in a new gray wheel chair.

5

HARVEY FOX was in for a week for a checkup. He looked just the same and acted just the same and he woke all the girls every morning at 6 a.m.

6

DOROTHY NICHOLSON was in for a bit and will return on April 20.

7

Another kidney operation brought DON KOLLAR back for a spell. He has a cold now, but is fighting it at home.

8

March 12 was a Happy Birthday for RUTH DAVIS when she received a Hi Fi set and dreamy pajamas. Ruth came back in December and is still here. First, she had pneumonia, then pneumonia again, then a broken leg, now a cold and finally an ingrown finger nail. But at last, she really hopes to go home soon to stay. They have a lovely new home. Address: 7575 Craigleigh Drive, Parma, 29, Ohio.

9

When DICK JASKELA was in a short time ago for a week, he spent his times comparing record collections with Liz.

10

DAN INNOCENZI was in for leg surgery, and the gals in the wards were jealous because he stayed in his room all the time with his good looking girl friend.

11

A recent overnight guest was RUDY SOKACH.

12

The biggest moving day of all was on the Sunday before Easter when VERN COLBURN went home for good. Vern's planning was so efficient that he was lifted off his bed here to a cot and by the time he got home, the same bed was all set up and he was put right back into it. His last few weeks here were devoted to plans for his new home which will be streamlined to his needs. But when he left, he still hadn't solved the problem of a giant-sized bathtub.

13

The measles brought DON BUTTERBAUGH back, and he was in a tank for a short time.

14

DICK ANTON was back for a checkup. His house is being redecorated, finishing the second floor. He did all the electrical work himself -- up and down ladders too.

15

Way back in January, everyone was on Radio and TV for the March of Dimes. The girls say that Ruck Meckler talked the most; Ruth says that is not true, Dr. Eiben did.

Our glamorous coed CAROL KNEEBUSCH spent two weeks in Miami Beach, Florida, with Claire. They stayed at a wonderful hotel and acquired a marvelous you-know-what. Carol is at Baldwin-Wallace, and planning to be a speech teacher.

20

IDA BRINKMAN is still the same lovely gal. She eats ice cream all the time, and wonders why she gains weight.

23

SUSAN ARMBRECHT has been studying hard, as usual, and has added French recently to her full schedule. But no matter how full the schedule, when the day is warm and the sun shines, she finds a way to work on her suntan and add glamour to her glamour. She had an exciting tour of the new wing of the Art Museum escorted by assorted local artists.

24

LOUISE DODEC went home for good and she has spent all her time writing to colleges all over the country seeking one with facilities for wheelchair patients. She is still searching, because those which could take care of her have filled their quotas. If you have any suggestions, write her at 20294 Emery Road, Warrensville Heights, O. Meanwhile, she is starting a part time job at Suburban Hospital doing office work and switchboard training, and is attending classes at Dyke Spencerian College.

25

Lady Godiva of 27 has gone home, taking her exciting new wardrobe with her. JANET RUEHLING'S lovely long hair, warm smiles and gay clothes will be missed by everyone.

JEAN LANG reports that she and all her family are well, and that she and Adele have both been summoned to appear on April 29 for checkup.

28

Jean had had a letter from BECKY KRIEGE saying that everything was going great in Wadsworth. There was a charming picture of Becky and her daughter in her local paper and Jean says that the picture is evidence that the past year and a half at home have done wonders for Becky.

29

JOHN LAMBOUR checked in with the Toomey Parole Board and he reimpressed everyone with his determination. He seems to be doing well in his own job, talks of increasing his working hours from four to six, and thinking of possibilities of an electric wheelchair to travel the miles of hallway at his place of business.

30

We hear from a beautiful blonde volunteer at Crile that DICK MILLER is not using any aid at all and is doing real well. Dick has the distinct pleasure of being in the same room as BURT BACON.

31

SUE WILLIAMS was back for five weeks over February with pneumonia. She advises everybody to take their country drives in the direction of Chagrin Falls, stopping for liquid refreshments at 24 Walnut Street (opposite the Fire House).

32

ALBERT KEHOE is at Fenn College taking Business Administration. Recently he missed being on the Dean's list by such a tiny fraction that he received a letter from the Dean complimenting him on his excellent work. He and his brother are hard at work now planting and transplanting their flowers and vegetables and have big plans for a summer business.

33

Barnesie (our Junior Volunteer) received a nice long letter from her good friend, BUD DABBY. He said life was different for him than it was before he came to Toomey -- a lot better. His address: 8354 Edgedale Road, Baltimore 4, Maryland. He said that he and BOB FISHER have several reunions and that Bob is getting along very well. Where are three lovely occupants of the Nursery these days -- Lorenzo, David and Corinne.

38

Early in December, lovely ROBBIE POLLOCK, HER books, periodicals, records, etc., etc. returned to her home at 207 Norland Avenue, Chambersburg, Pa. The entourage of doctors, therapists, nurses, equipment engineersm which accompanied Robbie was truly remarkable, and must have swollen the population of her hometown tremendously. We understand she has acquired a lovely French poodle.

39

RITA FORD has been in the Rehabilitation Hospital at West Haverstraw, N.Y. for several months. We understand she is home now and all the family are well and happy.
