Original caption: Figure 8. -- Evidence of the progress that has been made in the manufacture of gogles. The lens has been shattered into scores of pieces, but not a particle of glass left the frame. It is not difficult to imagine what would have happened to the eyes of the man who wore these if he had not had them on at this particular moment.
