July 15th -- This was the day of the big field meet for the patients on the Foundation. Two teams, the Henna, captained by Bud Cohalan, and the Puce, captained by Walter Beyer, competed. The Puce were victors by the score of 31-23.

July 17th -- Approximately forty sports writers from neighboring Georgian cities together with their families were guests of the Foundation at dinner. In the afternoon a golf tournament for the writers was held on the Warm Springs Course. Roy Fuss of the Atlanta Journal was the winner.

July 22nd -- The first moonlight swim of the out-door bathing season was held in the patients' pool. Music by the Sournote Syncopators and a race between the physios and patients were features of the swim. The race was won by the physios. A group of limericks about people on the Foundation written and sung by Steve Helburn and an original song by the physios were part of the evening's entertainment. The proceeds of the swim were used for the entertainment fund.

July 27th -- A card party for the benefit of the entertainment fund was held on the porch of Meriwether Inn. Refreshments were served and a prize was awarded the winner at each table. A cake raffle at the party was won by Bob Reidy.

July 31st -- The Warm Springs Golf Course was the scene of a foursome match with Charlie Yates, Georgia State Amateur Champion, and Tommy Barnes, outstanding amateur, opposing Fred Haskins, Columbus professional, and Warren Mays, local club professional. A gallery of about 200 watched the amateurs win the closely contested match, 2 up. Indiidual scores were: Yates, 75 ; Barnes, 81; Haskins, 79; and Mays, 82.

Pictures shown at the Play House during July Included "Rainbow Trail," "This Reckless Age," "Business and Pleasure," "Shanghai Express," "Reaching for the Moon," "Dancers In the Dark," "Around the World" with Douglas Fairbanks, and "Pardon Us."
